Muh muh muh midterms . . . muh muh muh midterms

We have a week of midterms. This is nice. I just have to proctor a few exams (the Brits call it invigilation). I also need to grade the exams and write up some comments for my homeroom students.

I'm expecting the 2nd half of the term to go smoothly.

My bike was stolen. This sucks. It was locked to a gate but someone either cut the lock or it might not have latched properly. I am bummed. So far in my time on this planet I've had:

2 bikes stolen, a car stereo taken, and my Jeep was broken into 3 times (most likely 2 but it feels like 3). I always feel so violated when my stuff gets ripped off. Maybe this is Karma for the time I took a toy from the play room at a Racquet Club in third grade. Either way it sucks and now I'll most likely have to buy another bike. I'm contemplating a scooter, but they're a bit more expensive. It would make traveling through the horrible Bangkok traffic a lot less stressful.

I'll try to take some more pictures of my life here.

sorry to hear about the bike. sucky people... Hey, I'm attempting guitar, for about the 5th time.. Still don't have a handle on chords (can't seem to keep which is which straight, that's an old brain for you), but I'm learning all sorts of new stuff with the right hand that makes up for it. Travis picking; thumping; rolls; it's been fun. So, if I ever practice enough to remember a chord I could even pick out a song or two, haha. The teacher is great, from Vancouver BC. He's got dvd's and does all sorts of performing around the country. Mostly blues, and is terrific on the dobro and slide guitar. His name is Doug Cox, I'm sure he's on the web somewhere... He's giving a concert with the American mandolin champ on Saturday - should be good. Meredith is all set for UAF classes - she wants to double major with anthropology and art. Not exactly sure what she'll end up doing with that, but at least she has something she's interested in. Lee is in week two of retirement, he's hardly been home! not much else, good luck with the 2nd half of your term. love you much, auntie g
